It is our responsibility to inform you that Sedona – Oak Creek Airport Authority objects to any and all Recreational drone usage within 5 miles of Sedona Airport. Part 107 Commercial UAS Operators should also be informed Sedona-Oak Creek Airport Authority does not recommend nor condone operations within the 5 mile radius of the Sedona Airport. Drone usage in this area creates undue hazard to Sedona Airports manned air traffic. Any operations conducted within the 5 mile radius are carried out at the operators own risk. Sedona Airport will not be responsible for any property damage, injuries, or deaths that may result from unauthorized operations.
All UAS operators are responsible for familiarizing themselves with an airports traffic patterns and operations including, but not limited to common air traffic routes associated with day to day airport operators such as helicopter tour companies conducting aerial sightseeing tours, etc. Sedona Airport is a very busy non-towered class G airport where air traffic is responsible for their own separation through radio communication and see and avoid tactics. Sedona Airport is surrounded by unique terrain, and sizable elevation changes that can create confusion about UAS operations true altitude above ground level. Sedona Airports objection to UAS operations in the vicinity of the airport are strictly in the interest of safety and are in place to protect pilots, passengers, and our community.
The Sedona No Drone Zone map shows the Sedona airport and Wilderness areas where unauthorized UAS flights are prohibited.
