Put your accounting expertise, innovative leadership, and on-site management skills to work serving

“America’s Most Scenic Airport.” This senior leadership position with a thriving regional airport in spectacular

Sedona, Arizona reports directly to the General Manager. The Business Manager leads and participates in daily

business operations and oversees all financial activities related to the Airport. The position requires sound

independent judgment to make decisions and effect change within Finance and Administration, as well as

proven management competence as a key member of the Airport leadership team, impacting the overall

strategic focus of the Sedona Oak-Creek Airport Authority (SOCAA).

Responsibilities include general accounting, financial analysis, capital improvement projects, contract and lease

management, budget coordination, and payroll/benefit coordination. The Business Manager oversees the annual

audit for the organization. The successful candidate should be well versed in the most current HR policies and

processes. The position is expected to encourage and facilitate an environment for building team efforts and

problem-solving of work-related issues by employees. The Business Manager works cooperatively with a

variety of customers and tenants within and outside the Airport. The busy and fast-paced office environment

requires a strong and consistent on-site presence, excellent organizational and time management skills, and a

keen ability to prioritize tasks. The ideal candidate will seek opportunity to innovate, while benefitting from and

strengthening the partnership between local communities and the Sedona Airport. As a senior representative of

the Airport, all activities must be conducted in a courteous and professional manner. The Business Manager

must be trusted to respond to and resolve difficult or sensitive inquiries and complaints with courtesy and tact.

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., accounting, finance, management) from an accredited

college/university and a minimum of 5 plus years of related financial experience. The successful candidate must

possess supervisory experience with the ability to mentor and train. Proficient utilization of accounting software

(e.g., QuickBooks and Microsoft Office), including Microsoft Excel, is required. The Business Manager must

possess excellent written and oral communication skills, a high attention to detail and follow-through,

demonstrate sound decision-making and judgment, as well as a strong work ethic and acceptance of

responsibility. The position must employ strong interpersonal skills when interacting with coworkers, board and

the public to effectively gather, exchange or convey information.

Additional Qualifications:

CPA licensure or master’s degree is strongly preferred, along with significant demonstration of successful

supervisory experience. The successful candidate must be motivated to research, evaluate and incorporate new

advances in technology. Additional education and senior leadership experience will enhance a candidate’s

fitness for the position.
