Airport SCENIC OVERLOOK

RECOMMENDATIONS: 

    Arrive 1 hour prior to published sunset to avoid the traffic (yes, it happens).

    Have credit card or cash for payments ready as you approach the kiosk to keep the line moving faster.

    Parking fee is $3 and is good all day long (you can leave and return, just keep your receipt).

    Small bills or exact change is appreciated.

    NO CAMPING or overnight parking.

As you drive up Airport Road, it begins to level off after the long climb you are rapidly approaching "The Overlook".

     Cross the Cattle Guard.

     Left is the parking lot.  Follow the signs and see the parking attendant.

     Right are the best views of Chimney Rock, Thunder Mountain, Coffee Pot and other mountains of West Sedona.

To Park

      Follow the signs and park in an orderly manner.

      Do not block entrance or exits.

      Parking is $3.  Please have small bills or exact change ready if paying cash.

      Credit / debit cards are accepted.

      Save your receipt, it is your parking pass and is good all day.

      Pay the attendant at the booth or use the kiosk next to the booth if unattended.

      Bottled water is available for purchase when kiosk is attended.

      No camping or overnight parking.

To Hike

       DO NOT walk on Airport Rd for your safety, it's busy, it's narrow and pedestrians are prohibited.

       Make sure you are dressed appropriately and have enough water.

       Start at the Forest Service triple sign in the Overlook Parking Lot for directions.

       Follow the signs.

       The Sedona View Trail is 0.7 miles which connects the Overlook and the Vortex parking lot below.

       The Airport Loop Trail is 3.2 miles.

To the Scenic Overlook

      Cross Airport Rd at the crosswalk.

      Enjoy the View!

      No climbing on the sharp metal art installation please!

Give us a hand
